Dispersion Shade

The main component of this project is the Oak branch fork, which offers a strong form of interlocking grains. This branch provides a connection offering both structural stability and aesthetic inspiration, as the rest of the project draws inspiration from this theme of fractal dispersion.

It also illustrates how the canvas was created, using 18 individual triangle pieces of material. These 18 pieces have been sewn together to create a pattern; that was inspired by both the repetition of shapes and forms found in trees leaves and their canopies'.

Similar to the first project, this parasol uses a combination of both Oak and Ash. The Oak in the project consists of two parts : the fork and the base ring - with both being provided from sustainable sources. The Oak fork was sourced from a fallen limb, and the base ring is taken from a felled tree. In contrast to the first variation of parasol, the oak base provides a sustainable equivalent to the previously concrete base.
